Items Needed for Mortgage Application

To complete your mortgage application, you may need the following:

 Identification

  • Social Security Number for all Buyers
  • Driver’s License or Valid Picture I.D.
  • Veterans bring your Certificate of Eligibility or DD-214

Property Information

  • If buying a home, a copy of the purchase agreement
  • If refinancing, your address and proof of current value
  • If selling a home, a copy of the sales contract
  • Name & phone number of your insurance agent

 Employment and Income Data

  • Names and addresses of each employer for the past 2 years
  • Gross monthly Income (last 2 Paycheck stubs)
  • W-2 Wage Forms for the past 2 years (1040 Tax Returns if self employed)
  • Supplemental Income (rental income, child support received, etc.)
  • Proof of pension, retirement, disability or Social Security income (if applicable)

 Assets

  • Bank account statements for the past 3 Months
  • Schedule of other Real Estate owned
  • Life insurance cash value (documented if used as a cash down payment)
  • Retirement account statements (IRA, Roth, Pension)
  • Investment account statements (stocks & bonds)

Liabilities

Latest mortgage statement(s)

Each creditor’s name, address and type of account, account numbers, monthly payment, and approximate balances (car loans, credit cards,

Free Credit Reports

Federal laws now mandate that every consumer is entitled to a free credit report once every 12 months from each of the nationwide credit reporting bureaus: Experian, TransUnion and Equifax. A credit file disclosure provides you with all of the information in your credit file maintained by a consumer reporting company that could be provided by the consumer reporting company in a consumer report about you to a third part, such as a lender. A credit file disclosure also includes a record of everyone who has received a consumer report about you from the consumer reporting company within a certain period of time (“inquiries”).
